This week’s Heart of Cool’s Music Monday’s goes to LONTALIUS’ (a.k.a. Eddie Johnston from Wellington, New Zealand) record, “All I Wanna Say”. Brilliantly charming, blushingly genuine and truly intimate in nature, this video depicts Johnston learning how to ride a bike for the very first time by a friend during the peak hours of dusk into the starlit night.

The level of raw honesty, true emotional transparency and simplicity is refreshing. And the soft, sultry sonic experience is captivating yet subtle at the same time.

Believe it or not, Johnston, has actually been releasing music since the age of 13, but he is better known for his creation of the Casio covers of Top 40 songs: Nicki Minaj (“Pills N Potions”), Beyonce (a gently crooned “XO”), Ciara (“Body Party”), Drake, Bieber, Pharrell (“Happy”) and plenty others for this past year and a half.

Shot out to HOC family member, Deidra Dixon, who assured Cris & I that we had not heard anything like it. She was totally right!

Lontalius’ debut album will be released later this year. Take a look at the video and let us know if you will be checking for future tunes from the New Zealand native artist. We know we most certainly will.

Signing Off!
