Last year, when COACHELLA announced that Beyonce had to cancel as the headliner due to being pregnant with twins, fans were devastated. However, the wait was well worth it as this year, Beyonce, the first black woman headliner, turned the COACHELLA city limits out! Arguably, the biggest production COACHELLA has witnessed, Beyonce held nothing back during this soulful and riveting performance and unapologetically flexed the black legacy and royalty that runs through her veins.

A woman and Artist, who goes over and beyond the call of duty in a purposeful way every single time, Beyonce opened up the show with the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice And Sing”. Setting the tone of black history and black excellence, Beyonce’s show referenced America’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with a “Bug A Boo” probate show and a 100 member marching band with high-energy majorettes. It was truly “one band, one sound”. Guest appearances Jay Z, Destiny’s Child, Solange and the Les Twins were simply the cherry on top.

Setting a YouTube livestream record, drawing 458k simultaneous viewers on YouTube, check out a snippet of the female Michael JACKSON of our time work it out with an unprecedented performance, changing the entire name of the festival from COACHELLA to Beychella.
