Nas‘ soliloquy in his most recent track, “This Bitter Land”, alongside Erykah Badu‘s soul-awakening vocals, are powerful and thought provoking and right on time in the midst of some of our nation’s and world’s challenges in the battle between love and the lack thereof. Music most certainly has a way with transcending time and language and lifestyle. Nas and Erykah remind us that we live on a borrowed land, on borrowed time and that borrowed time is winding up. Winding up for what exactly you may ask? The time is winding up for all souls to be victorious and free from this material and temporary world.

And how do we know, well the signs of the time tells us of course. So listen to the piercing vibration of Miss Badu’s vocal chords and allow Nas’ testimony to bring about a new revelation and understanding about your purpose within the battle that life presents on your journey.

“This Bitter Land” is just one of the many tracks on the musical soundtrack of “The Land”, an independent drama that stars Badu while being  executive produced by Nas. The musical composition that accompanies the movie is stacked with talent such as Jeremih, Pusha T, Fashawn and Maybach Music Group’s, Stalley. The compilation will officially drop on July 29.”

On July 29th, The Land hits theaters. Director, Steven Caple Jr., “tells the story of four teenage boys who devote their summer to escaping the streets of Cleveland to pursue a dream life of professional skateboarding.”
