On the same day as Balmain SS17 Runway Show, guess who I caught stunting on Instagram; and rightly so If I might add? Mr. Virgil Abloh l, indeed, is the man I speak of.  The Off White collection supported heavily by the youth across the globe, made no disappointments and set a new bar of appreciation for the creative work that Abloh has patiently and meticulously crafted and evolved.

As a Scorpio and someone who has lived in London while working on my masters, Mr. Abloh most definitely got my attention spoke with his ss17  Runway Show.

AND HERE IS WHY:  The sportsy high fashion cloths were inspired by London,  incorporating football-style low-tops and oversized scarves along with oversized sweaters, coats and trousers that were embroidered with none other than my favorite astrological sign, the beloved scorpion. And what sexy and chic girl wouldn’t know what to do with patchwork flannel shirts and transparent tees. I know I would.

This season’s ss17 fashion week in Paris made me proud and optimistic about America’s growing presence in the Parisian fashion scene. Looking back at my experience there, I have to revel in the fact that we had the most African American designers showing than ever before; AND quite frankly, they ripped the runway beautifully to shreds! They were authentic and contributed an effortless fresh perspective and daringly revolutionary approach to fashion and their ideas were not limited based upon traditional expectations of what is considered fashion. From Rhianna bringing Puma front and center of Fashion Parisian history and Virgil Abloh upping the anty when it comes to the level of high expectation that critics and the French press have when viewing Off White, I must say it truly was a trailblazing moment.
