Sunday night, the city of LA was littered with the dazzling allure of The Oscars with many galas, dinners, and viewing events. However, the lights shimmered the brightest at The Taglyan Center with The Oscar Viewing Gala Benefiting The Children Uniting Nations.

Pioneered in Los Angeles in 1999 by Founder and Chair, Daphna Ziman, Children Uniting Nations was founded to protect the children who have no voice, whose fragile lives are abused and lost by the millions due to uncertainties out of their control, Children Uniting Nations is a proactive nonprofit organization that brings stability and supportive relationships into the lives of foster youth through a mentoring program that has become a model program for the rest of the country.

The red carpet, which encompassed the entrance walkway, saw an eclectic mix of celebrities and known cinephiles Andy Dick, Radha Mitchell, Max Ryan, Larry Dunn, David Faustino, Ellen Hollman, J. Sutta, Joseph Gatt, Alice Amter, Natasha Alam, Katie Clarke, Kira Kazantsev, Samantha Mumba, Melia Kreiling, Andre Soriano, Amy Willerton, Bruce Caulk, Derek Warburton, Cristen Mills, Tasha Boué, Nawal Bengholam, Izabella Miko, Monique Zordan, Lee Broad, Shin Koyamada, Rochelle Vincente Von K, Sarodj Bertin, Sarah-Jane Crawford, Shawne Mirriman, Tonya Kay, Vik Sahay, Clement Von Franckenstein, Steven Berkoff, Demetrius Grosse, Katie Cleary, Nia Lyte, Sam Horrigan, and Mercy Malick.

Inside, guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails sponsored by Dama, Hula Girl, and wines graciously donated by Seebass Vineyards. As the Oscars began, people enjoyed a seated formal dinner courtesy of presenting sponsor Cinemoi, rooting for their favorite actor or film to win. But once the Oscars began to wind down, the guests were treated to a high-couture runway show highlighting the works of many designers. Hosted by Amy Willerton, the fashion show included the works of Slovakian Renata Kliska and her latest creations from her La Rena label, Indonesian designer Anniesa Hasibuan with her latest collection “PearlAsia”, and Mialy Seheno with her wildly flowing ball gowns showing that fashion truly is the universal language of peace.

The biggest surprise and highlight of the night was the DJ set by Pete Tong, courtesy of music power house AHP; who electrified the floor with his music which kicked the after-party into full gear.
