Health is wealth and understanding this concept no matter how brilliant or creative or entrepreneurial you are is of the utmost importance. You can make all the money in the world or improve billions of lives as a result of the gifts that the Creator has lended you, but if your health is not your first priority, then your ability to maximize your offerings for this planet and it’s inhabitants get cut short. And if you have aggregated quite a bit of wealth, the America government takes half before you are even cold in the grave. So, the question becomes  how do we give, share and build without compromising the integrity of our well being.

How can we take the advice of the great philosopher, Rumi, and give from our overflow as opposed to from the depths of our soul.

One practice filled with many tools that has really helped me to set forth the intention of honoring my well-being is practicing a daily ritual program that fills my cup, renews my mind and restores my soul each morning. Ideally, as soon as my eyes open in the morning, I grab my head phones and immediately start to meditate (to empty myself), then I pray (from a place of stillness) and set some intentions (with a mind now more aligned with the Divine than my personal ego) and head off to yoga or the gym to work my body, mind and spirit together (silently repeating affirmations).

I am not perfect and sometimes may miss a day or two, but the point is I have a structure that I can go to in order to get back on track. I also have an idea of what it takes to keep my cup full that serves as a metric that ensures that whomever or whatever comes into my life experience will enhance that process as opposed to derailing it. It’s important and also everyone’s personal responsibility to ensure that their cup is full and that they are happy even if they are in a romantic relationship. “People, experiences and opportunities can bring you happiness or make you happier, but when “ness” and “ier” drop off, happy goes right along!” My mother always instilled the aforementioned within my spirit.

Below, please find some of the tools I use throughout my day to promote harmony, balance and restoration in my life experience so far. I encourage you to experiment and find a daily ritual that serves and honors you.

And, remember, the idea is to pay yourself first spiritually, mentally, physically and financially.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
