Did you know that the body stores foreign substances and toxins in fatty deposits? And in many cases, you could very well be carrying up to ten or more pounds of mucous-harboring toxic waste, triggering adverse immune reactions otherwise known as disease? Well ask clinical nutritionist, Dr. Gillian McKeith, author of “You Are What You Eat: The Plan That Will Change Your Life”.

Well, ladies and gents, with Cherry Blossom season in Japan just ending, we are most definitely well into Spring, heading full fledge fast as lightening into the Summer. And in the spirit of some much needed Spring cleaning, I am embarking on one of my favorite experiences: CLEANSING!. Yes, that’s correct. While many people across America are cleaning their homes in hopes to stay away from the pollen takeover, I am cleaning my physical body in hopes of redemption, restoration and realignment.

Dr. Gillian does such an impeccable job of explaining the following symptoms that indicates whether you may benefit from a cleanse. If you are tired, have PMS, digestive disorders, headaches, joint pains, bad breath, allergies, constipation, brittle nails, skin eruptions, poor memory, depression, insomnia and excess weight, more than likely, your body needs to rest and be cleansed so it can progress. I know mine does, which is why this week I decided to go completely OFF THE GRID and embark upon my 7 day Erewhone Juice Cleanse Journey.

CLEANSING my temple is literally one of the most loving experiences I have encountered in my adult years. With the hustles and bustles of life, coupled with the shocks and adversity on the planet as well as drunken fun times; in our adolescent years only of course :-), we manage to really screw up our internal composition and organ function. And although the body is brilliant and is made to heal itself, due to natural and manmade toxins within our environment, our physical vehicle of our souls, most definitely need a tune up every so often. In fact, I cleanse at least 3 to 5 times a year anywhere from 5 to 30 days. And it is the best commitment I have made to myself as it falls in line with self-love.
