After the SS17 Balmain Runway Show at the Hôtel Potacki in Paris yesterday at 5:00 PM, I think we can finally declare that Balmain is the epitome of all that is regal and simply magnificent, creating an royally chic aesthetic that still encompasses an impeccable edge that is striking and soft, at the very same time. And one principle that is most certainly clear is that the amount of flavor and timeless swag has no boundaries if Olivier Rousteing has anything to do with it.
It has been 6 years since the Emperor Rousteing began his Balmain revolution, capturing a glam factor that seems to suit someone who considers themselves to be of royal stature and tumultuously hot ?!The spring/ summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection showcases Rousteing’s ability to hone in on a “relaxed sensuality” that appears to be “stripped back”, yet still oozing all of the regally sexy wow factors that Blamain enthusiasts yearn for. “My Balmain army has shed its armour,” exclaims Rousteing; and I believe he accurately describes the evolution of the SS17 collection with the gossamer veils, chiffons and silks that were incorporated into the garments. The colors were even softer as well. Khaki, tan, gold and purple along with colors of a metallic nature dominated and permeated through the exquisite tropical Balmain garden Rousteing created for his militia of muses. The Balmain squad were adorned with a total of 80 looks and were also brilliantly accompanied by an orchestra of 25 that dangled from the rainforest vines.
All in all the looks were incessantly wicked and opulent. We saw everything from mini dresses and skirts of course along with jumpsuits, python coats, disco trousers and silk gowns. Kim Kardashian stole the entire show despite her not being on the runway with her mesh catsuit, which had no room for imagination, but still was emphatically my personal favorite.
Olivier Rousteing, sweetheart, you smashed this collection!!!!
